The internationality is the most important positive feature of the German trade
fairs in the worldwide competition. In 2010 around 53% of the exhibitors came
from abroad, of whom one-third came from countries outside Europe. In
particular, the number of exhibitors from Asia as well as Central and Eastern
Europe has risen significantly in recent years.
Of the visitors at international trade fairs, one-fifth travelled from abroad,
of whom over 20% came from overseas.
