Change in the management of AUMA

Berlin, 22nd December 2005 A change is being made in the management of AUMA_Association of the German Trade Fair Industry. The current Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Hermann Kresse (53), will leave the association after ten years in office, by amicable consent, with effect from 31st January 2006, in order to become a senior partner in a law office specialized in public affairs, media and trade fair law as well as industrial property protection.

Kresse took over the management of AUMA in 1996 in Cologne. Prior to joining AUMA, he had worked in the management of the television broadcasting company RTL. Since 1997 he has also been a member of the AUMA Board of Directors. In 2001, under his management, AUMA relocated in Berlin; in the Federal capital, the association consistently further developed its members’ service for the globally-operating German trade fair industry.

The multilingual lawyer also represented AUMA on international bodies, among others, on the Board of Directors of UFI – The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry.

The Chairman of the AUMA Board of Directors, Thomas H. Hagen, expressed his thanks to Kresse for his work. He said that, in a period that was not always easy for the trade fair industry, Kresse had steered a stable and calculable course. Furthermore, Kresse had generated important impulses for the successful development of the German trade fairs in Germany and abroad.

In cooperation with AUMA, in mid-2006 Kresse will publish a first, comprehensive handbook on trade fair law.
