Global Exhibitions Day 2021
On 2 June 2021, the exhibition industry worldwide celebrated Global Exhibitions Day - an initiative of UFI - The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry. This year, GED celebrates the safe return of exhibitions and their role in accelerating economic recovery! Around the world, the Corona pandemic has halted most exhibition activities for months, in some cases for more than a year. Globally, the industry's turnover has dropped by almost three quarters, and the impact on the service sectors involved has been enormous. In Germany, the exhibition cancellations have resulted in overall economic losses of 40 billion euros.
In some European regions the lights are now green for a new start of the trade fair business. In Germany, too, there are encouraging prospects for a lot of shows in the second half of the year. The exhibition organisers and their service partners have worked out safety concepts together with the health authorities. The exhibitions and the exhibition centres are now ready for a safe re-start. We are looking forward to it!
Exhibitions are coming back more efficiently!
The German trade fairs have developed concepts for a safe re-start of the German exhibition industry, including systematic verification of compliance with distance rules and masking requirements, limiting the number of visitors according to the space used and ensuring contact follow-up.
The economy need exhibitions!
German companies lack the support of trade fairs to increase their business success, an exhibitor survey shows: 76% of respondents complain about the lack of opportunities to acquire new customers, 84% about the lack of networking. Around 60% miss the chance to present new products in real life.
We are joining hands for the exhibition industry!
Since the beginning of the pandemic, people have given up many things: travel, contacts and personal meetings, and even the handshake to greet, get to know and conclude a contract in a spirit of trust. We at AUMA are counting on trade fairs taking place again soon - and on many trusting handshakes. That is what we are working for!
