AUMA Manager Jörn Holtmeier, Vice President of the UFI Associations Committees since 2020, will be taking on the role of Chair of the international Associations Committee in November 2023.
The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, UFI, has announced the newly elected members of its committees: Chair of the Associations Committee will be Jörn Holtmeier, who, as AUMA Manager, has already held the position of Vice President since 2020.
The Associations Committee consists of representatives of the national trade fair associations. Holtmeier will take over from Chris Skeith, CEO of the British Association of Event Organisers (AEO). Synthia Chan of the Macau Fair & Trade Association will become Deputy Chair. The mandate of the Associations Committee is to strengthen collaboration between the associations and to represent their shared interests before political decision-makers.
In addition, the newly elected members of the regional branches of the UFI have been announced. David Boon, CEO of Brussels Expo, Belgium, will become Chair for the region of Europe. The deputy chairpersons will be Antonio Bruzzone, Bologna Fiere (Italy), Lisa Hannant, Clarion Events (United Kingdom), and Mahmut Er, Ipekyolu International Exhibitions (Turkey).
The elected representatives will begin their three-year term of office in November, coinciding with this year’s UFI Annual General Meeting in Las Vegas (USA). Until then, the current chairpersons will remain in office.
