The Board of Directors of AUMA – Association of the German Trade Fair Industry has elected Peter Ottmann (53), Managing Director of NürnbergMesse GmbH, as 1st Deputy Chairman. Since 2011, Peter Ottmann alternates on the AUMA Board of Directors with his colleague Dr. Roland Fleck. The meeting was held on 9 June 2020 in the Kap Europa – the Congress Centre of Messe Frankfurt.
“AUMA plays an outstanding role in these challenging times, especially when it comes to highlighting the importance of Germany as a trade fair venue both nationally and internationally. I look forward to supporting the Chairman of AUMA, Philip Harting, together with the Second Deputy Chairman, Klaus Kremers, in his challenging task over the next three years”, emphasised Peter Ottmann.
Peter Ottmann replaces Werner M. Dornscheidt, who has held this office since 2009. Dornscheidt is retiring as Chairman of the Board of Management of Messe Düsseldorf at the end of June. AUMA Chairman Philip Harting paid tribute to Werner Dornscheidt's long-standing and passionate commitment to the German exhibition industry and to AUMA as the central voice of the industry. He had always championed the concept of the leading trade fair in Germany, but also the goal of German organisers to become the worldwide leader in the field of topics. And in many statements, he made it clear how the strengths of the German trade fair industry can be
secured by a clear focus.
AUMA, the Association of the German Trade Fair Industry, has 73 members, including 38 associations of the exhibiting and visiting industries as well as service companies and 35 exhibition organisers. The AUMA Board of Directors consists of 22 representatives of the members, one half representing the exhibition organisers, the other half representing the exhibitors and visitors from industry, trade and skilled crafts and trade.
