The high level of international participation at German trade fairs is a major reason why the country is the world’s number one location for trade fairs and why it hosts two-thirds of all global fairs. Exhibitors and visitors from abroad who need visas play a significant role in this status, and visa services are therefore very important for the German trade fair industry. More than 100,000 visitors and 20,000 companies from countries that require visas come to the approximately 180 annual international trade fairs alone.
AUMA works with the German Foreign Office to help exhibitors and visitors receive their visas on time.
Unlike other business arrangements, trade fair dates cannot be postponed. In addition, these trips often entail major decisions benefiting German foreign trade. Smooth visa services are thus especially important to ensure that exhibitors and visitors can enter the country on schedule. German embassies and consulates therefore need to place a high priority on granting trade fair visas. AUMA also works to ensure that the German Foreign Office and German diplomatic missions are as comprehensive as possible in informing applicants about the requirements and processes for trade fair visas. The objective is to enable foreign exhibitors and visitors to submit all of the documentation needed in sufficient time to receive their visas.
AUMA therefore maintains regular contact with the German Foreign Office, embassies and consulates as well as the foreign representatives of trade fair companies in order to optimise the visa application process specifically for trade fair participants.
