The Institute of the German Trade Fair Industry has been a focal point for trade fair research as well as educational and training programmes for the past 10 years. Here in Berlin we are playing an important role in laying a solid scientific foundation for the field of trade fairs and exhibitions.
We use scientific methods to monitor current developments in the industry, conduct background research and study contexts and connections. We publish these and other trade fair-related research results for all fields of economics, science and education – and make them available free of charge.
For the German trade fair industry to continue developing in successful ways, it needs young, well-educated experts. We therefore actively help to develop job profiles in the trade fair and event sector. We hold talks, train instructors and provide information about different educational and further training opportunities.
The German Trade Fair Library in Berlin has the largest collection of German-language literature on trade fairs, with approximately 9,400 publications. It is an established resource for research by professors, lecturers and students as well as by business managers – with up to 300 visitors a year.
