AUMA, the Association of the German Trade Fair Industry, is bundling its commitment to lobbying, legal issues, technology, sustainability and business development in a new structure. Silvia Bauermeister will take over the management of the new Policy, Legal and Sustainability Department on 1 October. The lawyer has been responsible for legal affairs and business development at AUMA since 2003. In future, she will head a team of three and report directly to AUMA Managing Director Jörn Holtmeier.
Born in Cologne, she studied law in Münster and Cologne. After completing her legal clerkship at the Speyer University of Administrative Sciences and at a law firm in Melbourne, Australia, she passed her second state examination in 1999. Until November 2001, she worked as Manager Legal Affairs in an industrial company in Vancouver and Gatineau, Canada. Before joining the Association of the German Trade Fair Industry, Bauermeister began working as an author for the civil law commentary of juris GmbH.
The 52-year-old has over 20 years of experience in the trade fair industry. She will continue to fulfil her previous responsibilities: legal issues in the trade fair industry, committee work, business development, data protection and compliance officer, conception and management of member events, including the AUMA legal and IT working groups.
