This combination of tradition, innovation and efficiency makes Germany the favoured trade fair location for globally active companies.
Regional trade fairs for trade visitors and the general public complement the international trade fair programme in Germany
In addition to international and national trade fairs, Germany has a dense network of regional trade fairs for trade visitors and the general public, covering a wide range of sectors and target groups. These trade fairs offer companies the opportunity to present their products and innovations in a local environment and to make direct contact with potential customers and business partners. The regional trade fairs are not only aimed at specific trade visitors, but also offer the general public a platform to find out about current trends and developments. The regional events bring together 55,000 exhibitors and around six million visitors.
International, national and regional trade fairs result in a programme of around 350 to 380 trade fairs a year with 16 million visitors and around 230,000 exhibiting companies in total.
World-class exhibition centres
Germany is one of the world's leading locations for trade fairs and exhibitions. Four of the ten largest exhibition centres in the world are located here, namely in Hanover, Frankfurt am Main, Cologne and Düsseldorf. These exhibition centres offer exhibitors optimal conditions for presenting their products and services to a global audience. In addition, German trade fair organisers are among the top 10 in the international turnover rankings, which underlines the importance and reach of these locations.

Trade fairs offer small and medium-sized companies in particular the opportunity to position themselves in a highly competitive environment and to present innovative products and services to a wide audience. They promote direct dialogue between companies, suppliers and customers and help to forge new partnerships. For SMEs, trade fairs are not only a showcase for their own strengths, but also an important source of inspiration for growth and innovation.
High significance for the economy

Trade fairs also act as drivers of innovation, as they promote the exchange of new ideas and technologies between companies.
