Berlin, 31 January 2025 / In the current year, German trade fair companies are planning 325 trade fairs in almost 40 countries, significantly more than in the two previous years. This is according to a recent survey by the Association of the German Trade Fair Industry (AUMA). Many of these projects are satellites to trade fairs that have been successfully organised in Germany for years. With their renowned trade fair concepts and their networks in important regions of the world, the domestic trade fair companies offer German SMEs new export opportunities. All foreign trade fairs organised by AUMA members can now be found in the trade fair database.
The most important foreign market for German trade fair organisers is South, East and Central Asia with 190 events. This is followed by the markets of Europe (43), Latin America (32), North America (21), the Near and Middle East (18), Africa (17) and Australia/Oceania with four trade fairs. A total of 16 members of AUMA and the Trade Fairs and Exhibitions Association (FAMA) will be organising trade fairs abroad next year. These include more than a dozen new projects. The trade fairs cover almost the entire industry spectrum - from automation, construction technology, energy, food and vehicles to agriculture and forestry, mechanical engineering and textiles.
In 2024, AUMA and FAMA members organised around 300 trade fairs abroad. In the previous year, there were also 300 with around 131,100 exhibiting companies, 9.4 million visitors and a booked stand area of around 3.5 million square metres.
