The International Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI) has published the "Euro Fair Statistics 2023" report. The data provides information on the state of the European trade fair market in 17 countries, including Germany. Key figures from Greece are available for the first time. The certified key figures of the fairs are collected by a network of 12 cooperating industry associations from across the continent.
"This new edition of the annual report on Euro trade fair statistics contains data for more trade fairs than in previous years, which illustrates the upturn in trade fairs after Covid-19. It is also interesting to note that less than two per cent of trade fairs are 'hybrid' events that allow online visitors," says Kai Hattendorf, CEO of UFI.
The events analysed recorded a total of 567,758 exhibiting companies. The statistics in the report cover 2,008 trade fairs with a total of 21.3 million square metres of rented space and 49.9 million registered visitors. UFI estimates that this data covers around 45 per cent of the European trade fair market. 40 per cent of trade fairs were aimed at trade visitors, 29 per cent at visitors from the general public and 31 per cent at both target groups.
The "Euro Fair Statistics 2023" report contains data collected by the following organisations: AEFI (Italy), AFE (Spain), ATFEO (Finland), BDO & Associates (Portugal), CENTREX (Central Eastern Europe), CLC-VECTA (Netherlands), FEBELUX (Belgium), FKM (Germany), FKM Austria, SOKEE (Greece), UNIMEV-OJS (France) and UCCET (Turkey).
