The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, UFI, has elected Wolfram N. Diener, President and CEO of Messe Düsseldorf, as its President for the 2026/27 term. The election took place during the UFI European Events Week in Thessaloniki and honours his more than 30 years of international leadership experience in Asia and Europe.
Diener joined the UFI Board of Directors as Designated President in November 2025. He will officially assume office at the 93rd UFI Global Congress in 2026 in Bahrain. He has already been a member of the UFI Board of Directors and Treasurer on the Executive Committee since 2022. Diener has been a member of the AUMA Board of Directors since 2020.
The current Presidential Trio consists of Panittha Buri, current President (Vice-Chairperson, Bhiraj Buri Group, Thailand), Hugh Jones, outgoing President (CEO, RX, United Kingdom), and Wolfram N. Diener, Designated President.
With his expertise and global network, Diener will play a decisive role in shaping the strategic direction of the global association. The election simultaneously underscores the high international reputation of Messe Düsseldorf.
