Slight Increase in 2014
Trade fairs in Germany have once again recorded a slight increase, a development that underscores their leading role among the international competition. The 176 international and national events in 2014 registered a 1.5% gain in exhibitors. Walter Mennekes, chairman of AUMA, emphasised this point at the association’s annual press conference in Cologne on 11 June 2015.
AUMA anticipates that trade fair figures will remain stable or increase slightly compared to previous events. A total of 161 trade fairs of international or national significance are scheduled to take place in Germany.
German Trade Fairs Abroad
German trade fair organisers are planning 315 foreign trade fairs in 35 countries, another increase on previous years. The AUMA brochure “German Trade Fair Quality Abroad 2015 provides an overview of these Events.
Venues investements planned
Germany's exhibition venues want to invest more than 850 million euros between 2015 and 2019, particularly into modernising buildings and infrastructures and also into small-scale capacity expansions. 3.2 million m² of hall space is currently available for exhibitions in Germany.
Objectives of Trade Visitors
Visitors to German trade fairs largely achieve the objectives they have set for themselves. In total, 72% said that they had achieved their objectives to a very good or good degree. Just 3% said that they had not achieved their objectives at all.
