AUMA, the Association of the German Trade Fair Industry, combines all the forces that shape the trade fair market on a partnership basis. Founded in 1907, it currently represents the national and international interests of 71 members. These include exhibition organisers as well as associations that represent exhibitors, service companies and visitors. AUMA's members share the following aims:
We promote the German trade fair sector – based on strong relations to business, government and society.
As the main association in the sector, we promote the exchange of information and experience among our members and coordinate collaboration on a partnership basis. We do marketing and public relations for the trade fair medium, and make the market transparent. We inform potential and current exhibitors and visitors, initiate research projects and support education and further training in the trade fair industry. We place a priority on supporting medium-sized German companies at trade fairs abroad and young innovative companies at trade fairs in Germany. We represent the interests of our members to government and commercial institutions – both at home and abroad.
The AUMA organisation
The AUMA charter defines four constituent bodies: the General Assembly, the
Board of Directors, the Chairperson and two Deputy Chairperson with representational rights, and the Management with its administrative divisions. AUMA’s working groups promote the exchange of information among members, provide recommendations and prepare resolutions for other bodies.
