Forms of participation in the foreign trade fair programme
In practice, various forms of participation in the foreign trade fair programme have developed, in which the possibilities for company involvement and the type and scope of exhibitor support vary.
Joint company exhibition (G)
The majority of foreign trade fair participations are organised as joint company exhibitions. By grouping the individual company stands together and visually labelling them under the umbrella brand "made in Germany", the most cohesive presentation of products from Germany is achieved.
Exhibiting companies can take advantage of the following services for a fee:
- Support from the organising company in Germany and at the trade fair venue
- Turnkey stand (stand space, stand construction, basic furnishings)
- Lighting and power connection in the stand
- Frame design under the umbrella brand "made in Germany"
- Uniform stand labelling
- Information stand with lounge
Information centre (IZ)
An information centre is an extended information stand that offers meeting and presentation facilities for interested companies (approx. 2 m² per participant). Flyers, models or smaller exhibits can also be displayed to a limited extent. A fee is charged for the use of the participation facilities provided. Information centres are usually offered together with joint company exhibitions (G).
Information stand (I)
Participation with an information stand only is the basic variant of German participation in a foreign trade fair without exhibiting companies. An information stand shows the official German interest in the country and in the exchange of goods with the country, a "business card" that can initiate future business relations. Every official participation has an information stand. It is staffed by experts from the relevant sector.
Privately financed joint venture (pG)
with information stand (I)
In the case of privately financed joint participations (pG) with an information stand (I), the services generally correspond to those described under joint company exhibitions (G). However, exhibitors do not receive any financial support. Exhibitors participate at full cost. Exhibiting companies benefit in particular from the technical and organisational services of the implementation companies in the case of federal participation or the organisational and advisory services of the state organisers in the case of participation by the federal states.
Part of the pG are information stands (I) of the respective owner of the participation, i.e. the federal government or the federal state. Furthermore, the services of a pG of a federal state can also be offered within the framework of a G of the federal government, which then extends to an additional information counter of the federal state, pure consulting services and the creation of contacts with potential buyers. In such cases, the federal government organisers are responsible for registering the companies' exhibition space. This form of participation is more likely to be realised for state participations.
